Physio for cosmetic surgery patients

Our physiotherapists have been helping people get the best possible result from cosmetic surgery for more than a decade.

We regularly help patients during their recovery from:

  • Liposuction

  • Facelift

  • Abdominoplasty or 'tummy tuck'

  • Breast enlargement

  • Breast reduction, including men's gynaecomastia reduction

With their detailed understanding of human anatomy they can help manage swelling (oedema), and physiotherapy may also reduce the appearance of scars for a faster, better and more even result.

We work closely with several prominent Sydney surgeons who now refer solely to us.

Physiotherapy treatment typically begins between three days and two weeks after your operation. In some cases (such as with capsular contracture after breast implants) treatment may still be beneficial up to a year later.

Treatment will vary from person to person. We communicate regularly with surgeons to make sure we're providing the best care we can for you.

Your treatment plan will be tailored to you and include a combination of:

  • Therapeutic massage with lymphatic drainage

  • Therapeutic ultrasound

  • Checking the fit of your recovery garment

  • Alternative movement strategies

  • Management of raised and red scars, including taping with silicone gel

  • Breast mobility exercises

  • Facial mobility exercises

If you're a surgeon and would like to know what we can do for your patients, please get in touch to discuss.
